By Darryn Smith

#LFA6 went accordingly as planned. Mackenzie Dern def. Katherine Roy via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) while in mainevent, Ray Rodriguez def. Rivaldo Junior via Split Decision (27-30, 30-27, 29-28).

The Mackenzie Dern vs Katherine Roy was very good Catch-weight fight. Dern was supposedly contracted to meet her at 115 but both ladies fought at 120. Mackenzie was much more improved in striking, takedowns, and transitioning this time around.

Editors Note: I previously stated in "Weekend Preview" that she was (3-0) but as of last Friday...Dern was (2-0.) Dern is officially at (3-0) in her #WMMA career now.

Dern in her post-fight interview, mentioned after one more fight and she wants to move up to UFC. Andrea "KGB" Lee, current #LFAChampion, via social media called out Dern for a potential title fight that was read to her inside the cage during post-fight interview. Dern's focus is on making name for herself in UFC.

Honestly, I would say to Mackenzie is that I want to see three to four more solid fights under her belt before she joins the elite promotion. Unless, Mackenzie is already hinting to us that UFC wants to see one more fight out of her in LFA to join them sometime this year or sometime in near future.

Do not get me wrong, I want Mackenzie to one day be in UFC but she needs more time to develop in WMMA to be a successful champion in UFC. Dern is already a decorated BJJ Champion. It will take a little time to break even more ground in #WMMA. She has all the tools and charisma to be a positive role model for young girls and up. Raising the bar higher than Ronda Rousey did for this sport. Let's not forget, she is only 23 years young. No time to rush into anything joining UFC now to get nothing in return for not taking enough time to build your brand in MMA World. In addition, I believe Dern needs to move up to Flyweight at 125 or go to Bantamweight at 135 to fight. Strawweight seemed to hard on her body cutting weight last two times considering her body structure. I think healthier weight cut at 125 or 135 would suit her best in future. Hopefully, a year from now, we will be mentioning Mackenzie on UFC cards and continue on this journey with her.

#UFCFortaleza was a very fun night like usual with Brazilian fight fans...here's results as follows...

Kelvin Gastelum def. Vitor Belfort via first-round TKO (3:52)

Shogun Rua def. Gian Villante via third-round TKO (0:59)

Ray Borg def. Jussier Formiga via unanimous decision
