By Darryn Smith  #FightWeek is finally back in my hometown of #KansasCity Missouri. #InvictaFC22 was a huge hit in this area with amazing hardcore fight fans that love #WMMA and #MMA. All of the other major fight promotions have been to this city but this will be the first time #UFC has ever put on a event here. Ever since UFC has taken off over the past few years, fight fans have been wanting this elite promotion to bring events here, especially pay-per-view events. Eventually we will get one but we will live from The Sprint Center in Downtown Kansas City for a great lineup of fights of women and men. 5. Ashlee-Evans Smith, Not that many people know too much about this fighter but since her UFC debut loss to Raquel "Rocky" Pennington a year or two ago, Evans-Smith has been training hard and winning fights to get back to the top of Bantamweight division. She does have Champion experience. She beat Fallon Fox for The Inaugural CFA Women's Bantamweight belt years ago. Pretty soon she got a call from World Series of Fighting and made a name for herself there too. This Saturday night Evans Smith will fight Ketlen Vieira. This should be a fun fight to watch to kickoff the #UFCFightPass preliminaries. 6. Zak Cummings, he is hometown fighter that fights out of Kansas City Missouri with Glory MMA, the MMA gym and Head Trainer James Krause built from ground up. Zak is starting to make a name for himself in UFC. He is coming off of impressive win last year in Belfast Ireland. He has been on #TUF show in the past and is just looking for more fights to continue his streak to be one of the top contenders in UFC. Good all around game and not afraid to go to the ground. He will be fighting Nathan Coy this card. Two experienced fighters going at it should be worth it. 7. Tim Elliott, #TUF25 winner and had an opportunity against best pound for pound fighter on the planet "Mighty Mouse" Johnson. Elliott gave him a battle every round with his unorthodox style. He came very close on score cards but Johnson does what he does best to always secure the win and continue his streak of being the best champion ever defending his Flyweight title. Elliott has all the experience in the world. Elliott trains out of Glory MMA along with Zak too. He had a very bad start coming into UFC awhile back taking on fights but not really performing up to his potential. The Tim Elliott of today is more focused and ready to go at anytime. He found new ground going into last season of TUF and winning the UFC contract along with other cool stuff that came with it. Elliott is looking for more opportunities to be successful and to one day be champion in UFC. Elliott is good guy to get behind. He does cool stuff to give back to community that you will never hear about unless you talked to him on personal level. 8. Michelle "Karate Hottie" Waterson, who is coming off a huge win in her WMMA career against Paige Van Zant last year on a UFC Fight Night in Sacramento. Karate Hottie trains out of Jackson Wink MMA. Waterson grew up into a family of trained martial artist. She knows what is like to be a champion. Waterson won the #InvictaFC Atomweight belt from Jessica Penne at #InvictaFC5. After her loss to Herica Tiburico , she had taken almost year and half off to really find herself and get refocused in life. Waterson has a documentary called #FightMom on #UFCFightPass and #Uninterrupted that takes on her fighter journey during her Invicta FC days as champion,a wife, and being a full-time Mom. She is ranked #7 of Strawweights and is looking for a possible title shot after this win. Her fight against Rose Namajunas. Rose has been in big fights to. She was in the #TUF20Finale but came up short against Carla Esparza. Look for Rose to make an impact this fight. 9. Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson, the best pound for pound UFC Flyweight Champion. He holds the most current active winning streak of active champions and is looking to tie The GOAT Anderson "The Spider" Silva with a win against Reis Saturday night. Ever since he debut in UFC, Mighty Mouse finds ways to defeat his opponents and gets better every fight. Make sure to watch this champ make history that night and keep looking for the next challenge.
