From early preliminaries to the mainevent, I felt it was another successful night for #BellatorMMA. What Scott Coker is doing is pretty remarkable. The production of the shows and promotions has been little better and not so cheesy in a sense. Plus more UFC veterans are taking notice what family culture Scott brings to the table. This will be a big year for Bellator and how they try to sell this big stacked pay-per-view card in June with highly notable fighters on it. The next Bellator card will not be until the weekend after #UFC211 but so far they have gained my attention again. The mainevent was very good to end the night. First Round was not eventful with this being their 4 meeting but by second round, things picked up Pitbull ended up submitting Straus by Guillotine choke. Pitbull celebrated his win with his son inside the cage holding his belt. Heartfelt moment for us MMA fans. The co-mainevent was the fight I was looking was forward to with Ilima-Lei McFarlane vs Jessica Middleton. Even though it ended in first round. It was very awesome deep armbar finish by Macfarlane. In post-fight interview, Ilima mentioned that she wants to get a title shot after this win. She rightly deserves it. She is still undefeated at (6-0) and I think she can hold on to the belt for awhile. Round of applause to Ilima for always giving us a good fight every time to remember. Here's the results from the fights on maincard: Patricio Freire def. Daniel Straus via submission (guillotine choke)(Round 2, 0:37) Ilima-Lei Macfarlane def. Jessica Middleton via submission (arm-bar)(Round 1, 2:15) Saad Awad def. Ryan Quinn via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) A.J. McKee def. Dominic Mazzotta via knockout (Round 1, 1:15) If you are active on #Twitter, make sure to spread the word and give us a follow @8bitmma for news, updates, fight polls, and more cool stuff coming soon.
