My #8bitMMA Fighter of the Week goes to Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone. Cerrone was born in Broomfield, Colorado. He fights out of Jackson-Wink MMA. His record stands at (32-8), as he heads into his rescheduled fight against former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler. Cerrone is no stranger to fight fans. Cerrone is one of the most well respected fighters in all of MMA. The first time we heard of Cowboy Cerrone was on The Tapout Show almost roughly about 10+ years ago. It jump started his career which lead him into UFC as a top prospect in this sport. Cerrone will fight anyone at any weight division. He just loves fighting for the pure sport of it. Cerrone is not like any other fighter you will ever meet. Cerrone treats you like a friend more than a fan. You can literally sit down and talk with him about anything MMA or life and walk away feeling great about your conversation. Cerrone has fought some of the best to ever step inside of The Octagon. Cerrone's last 4 wins came from the likes of Matt Brown,Rick Story,Patrick Coté,and Alex Oliveira from last year. Cerrone's most recent loss came in hands of Jorge Masdivdal by TKO(punches) back on UFC on Fox 23. Cerrone vs Lawler was originally scheduled for #UFC213 event but Cerrone caught a blood infection couple weeks before, which resulted in his fight being cancelled. Cerrone notified us from his verified Instagram account with proof and a picture of him hooked up to IV's on what went wrong and why he was not fighting on the card that week. In the meantime, we are set for this fight happening during #FightWeek. These two UFC veterans battle it out to get back to their winning ways in their respective Welterweight division. This will be a brawl to the very end. Cheer on the guys as they will put on a fight for the fans live at Honda Center this Saturday night. The undercard was not finalized as of today but will be released shortly.
