We sure hope it was a fiesta last night when you watched this amazing card with family and friends. This card ended the 11 fight card streak until we pick it back up again for #UFC215 on September 9th. There were 7 First Round finishes on this card. Amazing card for all fight fans right?!? In addition, congratulations to David Ortiz, who recorded the fastest KO in Flyweight history at :15 seconds defeating Hector Sandoval. So much to discuss with all these fights but #8bitMMA will focus the co-mainevent between Randa Markos vs Alexa Grasso. In the co-mainevent, these ladies should have taken Performance of The Night bonuses for entertaining the fans in Mexico City. From multiple sources, prior to their bout, Grasso did miss weight by 3lbs due to her UTI and a bad kidney that she was battling leading up to this fight. Grasso had to forfeit 20% of her purse for her medical issues. The two exchanged in a fun heated battle as they threw strikes standing up and when they needed to take it to the ground, they did so by using good transitions into submission attempts every round to secure each round. I had them at 1-1 as they headed into the final round. It was a very close fight. This fight could've went either way but in the final round, Grasso showed her brilliance to win the judges over in a split decision. Here is the final results from the fight card last night: #Maincard Sergio Pettis def. Brandon Moreno via unanimous decision (49-46, 48-46, 48-46) Alexa Grasso def. Randa Markos via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) Niko Price def. Alan Jouban via TKO (strikes) Humberto Bandenay def. Martin Bravo via KO (knee) Sam Alvey def. Rashad Evans via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) Alejandro Perez def. Andre Soukhamthath via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) #Undercard Jack Hermansson def. Brad Scott via TKO (ground and pound) Dustin Ortiz def. Hector Sandoval via KO (punches) at :15 of Round 1 (Fastest KO in UFC Flyweight history) Rani Yahya def. Henry Briones via submission (kimura) Jose Quiñonez def. Diego Rivas via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) #UFCFightPass Preliminaries Joseph Morales def. Roberto Sanchez via submission (rear-naked choke) Jordan Rinaldi def. Alvaro Herrera via submission (Von Flue choke) We hope you all enjoyed a fun night of fighting. #UFC will be on another short break until #UFC215 when Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson tries to break the winning streak record as the most active and defending champion in UFC History against Ray Borg. Also, the look awaited rematch between Amanda Nunes vs Valentina Shevchenko 2 will go down that night too. So much to cover for that new #FightWeek. We appreciate the support on #Twitter and #Facebook. Continue to follow us as we bring you as much coverage as we can offer every week. Thanks! Photo Credit: UFC
