Our #8bitMMA Fighter of The Week is the UFC's longest reigning and defending Flyweight Champion Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson. He was born in Kirkland,Washington. Mighty Mouse fights out of AMC Pankration. Mighty Mouse stands at (26-2) and 1 Draw in his MMA career. Also,a #FunFact about Mighty Mouse, he is a gamer and has his own #Twitch channel to follow and support. Watch him reign in that realm too.
Mighty Mouse's last win came here at #UFCKansasCity when he fought Wilson Reis. It was a fun fight between the two Flyweights but Mighty Mouse won via submission armbar. Mighty Mouse stated in his post-fight interview from #kansascity when asked what is next for the champion,Mighty Mouse responded in excitement by saying,"WE BREAKING!" Johnson's winning streak started back in 2012 when he fought Ian "Uncle Creepy" McCall at #UFConFox3. Ever since than, he's gone through tough battles that has challenged him but Mighty Mouse always finds a way to break each opponent down and end up winning the bout. Mighty Mouse's only notable losses came from Dominick Cruz back in October of 2011 via unanimous decision and Brad Pickett in 2010 via unanimous decision too. Since his last two losses back in 2010 and 2011, Mighty Mouse has been on a terror finishing his opponents one by one. This Saturday Mighty Mouse takes on the very skilled top contender Ray Borg. Borg is no fighter to play around with either. Borg reached this opportunity for a reason. Borg believes in himself and wants to be the next champion of this new wave of generation champions to lead the way. The higher up did not want this fight to happen because of the the whole "money fight" trend they started to bring in even more dollars for them. In addition, UFC President Dana White wanted Mighty Mouse to fight TJ Dillashaw who is a weight class above. Mighty Mouse stated that Dillashaw needed to earn his way up to him than just handed the opportunity. That fight rightfully fell through for now. Mighty Mouse made bold statements on #TheMMAHour couple months or so ago why this fight between him and Borg needs to happen. Johnson also stated that eventually he will branch out to potential money fights after he defends his belt this Saturday night but for now he is focused on this one.
