Our #8bitMMA Fighter of The Week is Cody “No Love” Garbarndt. He was born in Uhrichville,Ohio. He fights out of Team Alpha Male. Garbarndt record stands today at (11-0.) Garbarndt was on 10 fight win streak including an impressive showcased title win against former reigning UFC Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz at #UFC207. This rivalry stems all the way back to when Dillashaw left Team Alpha Male to join Duane Ludwig’s gym roughly a couple of years ago or so when he was a champion. Garbarndt and Dillashaw kept the feud alive when they were given the opportunity as head coaches fight each eventually to conclude the season fighting for the belt on a big pay-per-view card. It was a heated exchange every week on Ultimate Fighter 25 season between the two fighters. Faber was part of Garbarndt‘s coaching staff too. Every episode they would trade off in a war of words. One episode, it was so deep that before a weigh-ins begun, Garbarndt snapped after another heated exchange of words and started to choke Dillashaw with one hand while the teams tried to break each other apart with security in the mix too. This fight was supposed to happen mid-Summer but Garbarndt was having continuous back issues so The UFC gave Cody time to heal his back. Cody mentioned on social media that he even went to Germany for stem cell treatment to get his back problems in order be ready for it. Rumors were swirling that Garbarndt ko’ed Dillashaw during a little sparring session off camera. Dillashaw denied any claim to it on social media. Garbarndt finally released the footage yesterday on Twitter/Instagram that showed proof of this knockout just 72 hours before #FightDay.
