In the co-main event, it was Valerie Letourneau vs Kate Jackson. Both ladies have crossed paths before in #WMMA. They were featured on The Ultimate Fighter 23 season. The first round started off with sparks flying as the two strikers traded off with punches and lower leg kicks scoring as many points as they could to end the round. By Round 2, Letourneau was a little more aggressive in her approach scoring more points by striking and going for a much needed takedown that secured her that round. In the final round, Letourneau came out hitting Jackson with a right hook left body kick combo that stunned Jackson. Letourneau’s combinations kept taking even more of a tone on her. Letourneau showed more cage control every round to give her a nod to the judges picking up a unanimous decision in her #BellatorMMA debut. Here are the official results from the Newcastle,New England card: Michael McDonald def. Peter Ligier via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Valerie Letourneau def. Kate Jackson via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Mohammed Yahya def. Ash Griffiths via TKO(strikes) Phil De Fries def. James Thompson via submission (guillotine choke) Editors note: This will be the last Bellator MMA event with Spike TV. Starting in 2018, #SpikeTV will be rebranded as The Paramount Network. Bellator MMA will remain the same delivering #BellatorNation fans new and exciting events still in 2018. Thanks to all that tuned in last night. #Bellator192 will be live from Los Angeles,California on January 20th when Douglas Lima defends his belt vs #UFC veteran Rory MacDonald from The Forum. 📸: BJ Penn.com
